When I was younger I was a keen sportswoman. Gymnastics, cycling, walking, swimming, table tennis, dancing and many more… I was up for it.

I was as good as married to the bicycle. I often cycled with my sister in Richrath and together with her to Hilden, where I was born. The return journey to Solingen was often somewhat arduous, and I was often exhausted.

When I reached 80, I gave my bicycle to a small foreign boy who was thrilled!
